Nurse Practitioners

Dolly Lefever, A.N.P, C.N.M.

Dolly Lefever, A.N.P, C.N.M. Philosophy of Healthcare:
Health/illness is a continuum that is affected by our belief system and our physical and social well-being.  Balance in daily life is important in maintating health; and adressing illness is a mutual task between you and your health care provider.

Work and Education:
I started my Nurse Practitioner career as a Public Health Nurse in rural communities throughout Canada and Alaska.  In 1982 I received my ceritifcation in Nurse Midwifery (CNM). I had the proviledge of sharing in the birth of many Valley and Anchorage families.  I furthered my education at UAA, obtaining a certification in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).  Over the years I have maintained my knowledge base and stayed current with the rapidly changing medical field through continual reading of current medical journals.

My latest certification is in Prenatal and Perinatal psychology.  This field of knowledge researches the effects of life events, stress and medical interventions that can profoundly effect the fetus and child behavioral patterns for life.

I love my work very much and enjoy the people that I share health concerns with everyday.
